La Nora Kay has spent the past 26 years helping home buyers and sellers fulfill dreams in the Tri-Lakes Area and now the local Realtor is about to make an impact on the state and national level.
Kay will serve as the 2012 president of Missouri Association of Realtors, the second largest professional trade organization in Missouri, according to association marketing and communication director Betsy Woodruff.
“It is a very prestigious honor,” Woodruff said.
The association is made up of more than 19,000 members statewide.
According to Woodruff, Kay has followed the progression through the association for a number of years, serving as treasurer-elect, treasurer, president-elect and now president.
“La Nora has been extremely involved in this association,” Woodruff said. “Clearly she is key in this leadership team.”
Woodruff said not only will Kay speak on behalf of the 19,000 Realtors who belong to the association, she will also be involved on the national level, representing the association.
Kay will run her first meetings as president this week in Jefferson City.
Kay said she views the position as a chance to be a voice for homeowners on the state and national level.
“I believe Realtors are builders of communities,” she said. “We are really the voice for property owners in Missouri.”
Kay said serving as president is her way of giving back to the association that has done so much to help her. Kay has been a top-producing agent for years and attributes much of her success to the knowledge she has gained through the association.
“It makes me a better agent,” she said.
