Employee of the month

Alderman Mike Booth presents Branson police officer Jennifer M. Bunting with the February 2015 Employee of the Month award.

A Branson police officer was named the February 2015 Employee of the Month for her efforts in resuscitating a man at a theater.

Alderman Mike Booth presented Jennifer M. Bunting with the award at the regular alderman meeting Tuesday evening.

Bunting was reportedly the first to arrive at the scene where a man was found lying on the ground not breathing.

Bunting found a faint pulse and began CPR — the first time she had performed it in an emergency.

An emergency room doctor and ER nurse in the crowd assisted Bunting and the man was stabilized and transported to the hospital.

The man and his family reportedly previously established a “will not to live” for the man  and he was put on life support at the hospital long enough for his family to arrive.

“With officer Bunting’s quick response and actions, she was able to sustain his life until medical units took over,” Booth said. “This action provided his family precious time with their loved one before he was allowed to pass.”
