JOPLIN — Branson’s tennis team finished as runner-up at the COC Large Schools Tournament on Thursday.

The Lady Pirates’ Morgan Zabel and Tawny Denzer placed first in the No. 3 doubles flight. Gabby Brown and Katarina Makuch were second at No. 2 doubles. Zabel, Brown and Auneka Stevenson were all second in singles and Makuch and Denzer were third in singles.

Reeds Spring downs Cassville

Izzy Erickson fired a two-hitter and struck out 13 in the Reeds Spring softball team’s 2-0 triumph over Cassville on Thursday.

The Lady Wolves broke a scoreless tie in the seventh inning. Abby Rudd had an RBI single.

Lady Wolves sweep Buffalo

Reeds Spring’s volleyball team whipped Buffalo 25-12, 25-22 Thursday.

Carley Reaves-Eakins collected seven aces and five kills, Marissa Hatcher added five kills and Kalena Asbill contributed 12 assist.

Lady Pirates edge Willard

Branson’ softball team picked up a 5-3 victory at Willard on Thursday.

Cat Ford was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Gracie Jaeger and Amber Large were 2-for-3.

Lady ‘Cats cruise

College of the Ozarks’ volleyball team whipped Hannibal LaGrange 25-18, 25-11, 25-11 Thursday.

The Lady ‘Cats (14-3) received 10 kills from Alex Spears and two aces apiece from Kayli Grant and Haley Stallings.

Blue Eye bows to Hurley

Blue Eye's baseball team fell 5-2 to Hurley at the Seymour Tournament on Thursday.

Ryan Reagan went 5.2 innings and struck out eight. The Bulldogs had five errors, leading to three unearned runs.

Jacob Crouthamelm Ryan Reagan and Jeremiah George each had a single to account for Blue Eye's three hits.
