Branson’s soccer team saw its winning streak halted at seven games Thursday, as the Pirates lost at home to Springfield Catholic 4-3.

Branson jumped out on top 3-1 and had a fourth goal disallowed by officials. Catholic came back with three unanswered scores. 

The Pirates fell to 11-4.  

Blue Eye beats Crane

Blue Eye's volleyball team swept Crane 25-23, 25-11 Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 13-5-3.

Blue Eye was strong at the net, totaling 23 kills in two sets. Kohnnar Patton and Katelynn Hansen each had seven kills and Trinity Young five. In addition, Patton, Young and Emily Helms all had two blocks.

Kenzie Hobbs netted a trio of aces and 11 digs and Taylor Arnold added 19 assists.

Lady Tigers bow to Clever

Hollister's volleyball team (6-11-1) lost 25-17, 25-18 to Clever on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers’ Raven Ross collected 13 kills, four blocks and five digs and Angel Yalacki added five digs.

Bulldogs bow to Hurley

Blue Eye's baseball team suffered an 11-1 setback at the hands of Hurley on Thursday.

Mike Crews threw 1.1 innings of no-hit ball in relief for the Bulldogs. Chase McClenathan had a double.

Blue Eye opens SWCL Tournament play as the No. 3 seed and will meet No. 6 seed Galena at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Crane. The tournament's semifinal and final rounds will be held at College of the Ozarks Monday and Tuesday.
