SPARTA — Fresh from winning the Galena VolleyBear Classic over the weekend, Blue Eye’s volleyball team swept Sparta 25-16, 25-12 Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs received 23 assists from Taylor Arnold, 11 kills from Kohnnar Patton, five kills from Trinity Young, four kills from Katelynn Hansen and three kills and two solo blocks from Emily Helms.  

Blue Eye’s tourney title was the program’s first championship anywhere since 2012. Patton was the Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Arnold and Kenzie Hobbs.

Lady Pirates fall to Republic

Branson’ softball team dropped a 6-3 decision to Republic on Tuesday.

Bellanne Johnson, hitting leadoff for the first time, was 2-for-4, as was Gracie Jaeger. Johnson and Lauren Garrison both doubled and Jaeger tripled. Savannah Miller delivered an RBI single.

Bulldogs fall to Morrisville

Blue Eye’s baseball team bowed to Morrisville 7-2 in Monday.

The Bulldogs trailed 3-2 going into the seventh, before five errors on the day caught up to them.

Jacob Crouthamel pitched 6.1 innings and struck out six while not allowing an earned run. Ryan Reagan, Lyle Russell, Keagan Hobbs and Crouthamel all collected a hit. Russell and Crouthamel each drove in a run.

S of O win total to 11

School of the Ozarks' volleyball team swept Galena 25-20, 25-20, Monday to up the Lady Patriots' record to 11-5-3.

S of O's leaders included Olivia Vinton with eight kills, 11 digs and four blocks, Abby Mutrix with 16 assists, Lucy Watson with three aces and 14 digs and Caroline Tillack with three aces.
